Philosophy

My philosophy is based on waldorf methodology and two child development theories: Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs and Piaget’s constructivist theory. I believe that learning is best when it is experienced, reflected upon and then applied through experimentation. I believe that most children learn best when they are motivated by a stimulating learning environment that promotes curiosity and imagination. I believe that young children learn best when they have their basic needs met and I work endlessly to make sure they have enough rest, food and emotional and physical security to reduce anxiety and increase freedom of expression and joy of discovery. My philosophy is not as much social as it is about individual potential. A group of individuals building and discovering while sharing and interacting. Individually unique, together complete!

Location

Our program is located on West Main Hill. We are near Saint Michaels Catholic School, in a quiet residential neighborhood.

About our program

My program is small so that I can focus on each individual child and their family on a more personal level to build trust and provide love and support. My curriculum is thematic, hands-on, play-based and promotes teamwork and the construction of knowledge. I have achieved a Star 2 through the Keystone Stars quality improvement program. The environment is colorful and promotes curiosity and imagination.
