Philosophy
Learning Days Philosophy
- Children learn through play in both their learning experiences and their environment.
- Children develop every day in five main areas of development: health and physical development, social and emotional development, language development and communication, approaches to learning, and cognition and general knowledge.
- Literacy and language development are encouraged daily in the classroom.
- Opportunities for exploration and discovery encourage children to love learning.
- A strong classroom community—learning environment enables children to develop confidence, creativity, and lifelong critical thinking skills.
- The schedule and space are structured to allow children to pace themselves and select activities based on their individual needs.
- Teaching staff is selected based on their teaching beliefs aligning with our philosophy, personality, experience, and education.
- Teaching staff participate in ongoing training, workshops, and conferences to ensure we are providing the most up-to-date care techniques known.
- The teaching staff uses developmentally appropriate practices in the classroom and takes advantage of teachable moments.
- The teaching staff makes adjustments in their teaching to meet the strengths, needs, and interests of individual children.
- Positive reinforcement and guidance are necessary for building relationships with children.
- Building parent partnerships through open communication, conferences, and family activities is a key ingredient to child care/school success.
At Learning Days, punishment is absolutely forbidden. We take a preventive approach to discipline that teaches children positive behaviors, rather than punishing them for misbehaving. Our goal is to provide children with the opportunity and motivation to make good choices, function independently, learn social skills through gentle, encouraging guidance, respect the needs of others, adapt to routines and simple rules, and become responsible group members. Our learning environments are rich and structured to allow children to pursue their interests and abilities, reducing the occurrence of disciplinary problems arising from boredom or undue restraint.
Preventative discipline improves children’s self-esteem and problem-solving skills and encourages social behavior. This helps to maintain an atmosphere of warmth and understanding and helps children develop as individuals and as part of a group.
In extreme situations and as a last resort, separation from the group may be necessary for the benefit of the child and the remainder of the group. We utilize this time to help the child become calm before returning to the group, and children are allowed to re-enter to the group when they feel ready to do so. Separation is not used with infants and toddlers.

About our program
Our staff is bilingual ( Spanish, English, and Farsi). We are providing cultural food. Our children and Families come from different / Multi cultures and speak different languages.
At our school, we teach the concepts of math, science, engineering, art, social sciences, and early literacy through our play-based, child-led curriculum. We use the interests and ideas of the children as a jumping-off place. The materials are open-ended and invite discovery. Children make their own investigations and draw their own conclusions whenever possible.
