Haley Spencer - Program Director

With nearly a decade of experience in early childhood care and education, Miss Haley brings a warm, thoughtful, and child-centered approach to Wild Heart Child Care. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work with a minor in Early Childhood Development and has extensive experience practicing trauma-informed care through her work with the Department of Child Safety in Flagstaff, Arizona. Haley loves building meaningful connections with children and fostering independence, creativity, and emotional growth in a safe and engaging environment.

Shawna Pedersen - Lead Infant Teacher

Mrs. Shawna brings a warm, nurturing presence and years of hands-on experience caring for children. Previously working in an elementary school and as a mother of three, she understands the importance of creating a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment where children feel comfortable and cared for. Specializing in infant care, Shawna encourages confidence, kindness, and growth through everyday learning and play.

We are located in North Bend near Rockridge park.

About our program

Our mission at Wild Heart Child Care is to provide a nurturing child-centered home focused on fostering children’s creativity in a developmentally appropriate and resource rich play-based environment. This mission is carried out daily by low teacher/child ratios, specialized curriculum, Montessori style practices, and engaging in experiences that promote the development of self-help skills, self-control, and self-confidence.
