Our Teachers
Kelley has taught at two other learning centers in the past and worked with children from infants to five years old. While working at the preschools she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Science. She was previously a Pre-Vet student as well as a veterinary technician. Although she loves helping animals, she feels a true sense of importance by providing quality care during a child’s most moldable years.
We both are infant/child CPR certified, have our food handlers cards, are enrolled in the Central Background Registry, have taken all the necessary classes (recognizing child abuse, child care health and safety, safe infant sleeping) and obtain a minimum of 15 hours of continued education yearly. We both hold diplomas from North American Montessori Center.
Philosophy
“The goal of early childhood education should be to activate the child’s own natural desire to learn,” Dr. Maria Montessori.
Boulet-Montessori shares the same learning philosophy developed by Dr. Maria Montessori. We believe that children have an innate desire to learn and that they learn best through purposeful play or “work” according to Montessori. It begins with how we view children and treat them with respect and patience. The children have the freedom to make their own choices within our boundaries and are encouraged to be independent while knowing we are there to help. The environment has an essential role in facilitating meaningful play: it must be highly organized and not overstimulating; light, bright and welcoming; be as natural as possible; and display many real materials for children at their level with child friendly furniture. We provide toys and activities that encourage different types of play and introduce a variety of concepts. We also use songs, arts, crafts, books, and pictures during our group learning time to introduce appropriate academics.
About our program
We are a holistic Montessori inspired facility, which means we aim to nurture the whole child. We are firm believers that children learn through play and that play is a child’s work. Here, your child will have the freedom to learn and play according to their interests within the limits we have thoughtfully set in place. Last, but not least, we place a huge emphasis on respecting others and building quality relationships. We do this through modeling grace and courtesy while using positive discipline whenever necessary.
