Our Teachers
Hello! I am Deysi Gomez, the founder of Love and Learning Daycare & Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I have loved working with children since I was young. I have 9 years of experience and opened this program in 2012, and recently obtained my Child Development Associate (CDA). I have daughters of my own, and I can’t wait to make your little one a part of our family!
Achievements
Philosophy
At Deysi’s Wonderschool, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by feeling safe, loved, and nurtured. It is our goal to provide an environment that makes children feel welcomed and at home. In our program, children will feel supported as they engage with new ideas and learnings.
Location
Our program is located on the first floor of a secure apartment building (so no stairs or elevator!) one block north of Central Park and convenient for parents on the south end of Harlem and at the north part of the Upper West Side/Manhattan Valley.
We are located less than one block away from the 110 St-Cathedral Pkwy stop along the A, B, and C lines as well as one block from the 2 and 3 lines at the 110 Street Station - Central Park North. Our outdoor time consists of walks around the block and visits to the park’s green spaces!
About our program
One of the highlights of our day is circle time! We sing songs, read stories, and older children are given the chance to build basic educational skills. The topics of our discussion usually center around a monthly or seasonal focus. That way, children are able to use the world around them as a reference point!
This program promotes Spanish language development. We spend most of our day speaking in Spanish because it is my first language. No matter what language your child speaks at home, this will help them develop Spanish conversational skills and vocabulary.
I believe in-home childcare gives directors a chance to truly get to know the children. I believe in treating the children at Love and Learning just like they are my own! We get to know them so well at such a young age and watch them develop and grow.
