Our Teachers
Hello! I am Aura Sosa, the founding director of Aura’s Bright Children Wonderschool. I am the only National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC) accredited provider in Manhattan. I also have a Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate, completed the Medical Administration Training Course (MAT), and am a member of the NAFCC, the Family Childcare Association of New York State (FCCANYS), and the United Federation of Teachers (UFT), among others. To further my education, I am currently attending Touro College, working toward a B.S. degree in Child Psychology. I have been working with children for more than 15 years and look forward to seeing their smiling faces every day. It really is more than just a job for me. Spending time with children is an amazing and incomparable experience. My goal is for every child to feel excited when walking through our doors, knowing that they feel secure and look forward to a bright new day full of discoveries and adventures.

Philosophy
Aura’s Bright Daycare is a program that provides a quality learning and growing experience, while providing with a nurturing tone. We provide every child with the love and respect they deserve while following a curriculum that allows them to learn new skills and grow. Every day is different, as we provide new ways to promote development as we focus on key areas such as socializing, emotions, exercise, and critical thinking. We provide all the necessities to have your child shine bright like a star!
Location
Our program is located in Inwood in an apartment that has dedicated space for infants, toddlers, and school-aged children! We take advantage of the local neighborhood by taking walks around the block and visit the Inwood Branch of the New York Public Library and Payson Playground. We are a short walk from the Dyckman St station on the A and 1 lines.
About our program
We follow a weekly curriculum that comes directly from the children. Using the Creative Curriculum and GOLD strategies, each week has a theme that is influenced by the different topics that children find interesting while they are in our care.
Our program supports bilingual development. Each day, children will hear both Spanish and English - so no matter what language is spoken at home, they will gain confidence in both as they spend more time here.
We provide meals and snacks that are healthy and nutritious. As participants in a local food program, we ensure that the food provided daily meets all national guideline and supports your child’s physical growth.
