Our Teachers

My name is Carmen Polanco and I am the lead director at Mis Angelitos Wonderschool. My husband Andres and I opened this program in our home in 2017, after doing childcare in another space before this. We are the proud parents of two elementary-aged children.

Philosophy

At Mis Angelitos Wonderschool, we follow a play-based philosophy. Children can choose from the many developmentally appropriate materials that we have and are engaged throughout the day with adults and each other. As a bilingual program we support children in two languages and the songs and activities that happen throughout the day support English and Spanish speech and listening.

Our program is located on the 1st floor of our single-family home in the Jackson Heights neighborhood of Queens. We are conveniently located only two blocks from the 7 line at the 90th St/Elmhurst station and right along the Q49 and Q72 bus routes.

About our program

We are a Spanish-bilingual program. This program supports students in English and Spanish. We will speak both during the day, so children can learn how to speak and listen in each language.

We like to have fun with the children! We do dancing, singing, and play every day. Throughout this type of play, we make sure that children are learning and talking about letters, numbers, shapes, and other topics.

We participate in a local food program. Children are given nutritious and delicious food each day! They love our mac and cheese at dinner or oatmeal at breakfast.

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application. Please note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
