Our Teachers
Hello! I am Rosa Nunez , the founder of Starting a Little World Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because it has always been my dream to design my own space where children can blossom and grow. I have 12 years of experience working with young children. I have my own children, and as a parent, I believe that early education is the most formative part of a child’s life. As a school director, I run my school with a loving, warm, and positive energy and help every child uncover their best self.
My wonderful assistant teachers are Anneris Santelises and Evelyn Estevez. They help to make our school community even more vibrant!

Philosophy
At Starting a Little World Wonderschool, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by exploring the world around them. It is our goal to provide an environment that engages children with developmentally-appropriate activities and materials. In our program, children will feel empowered to follow their own interests in a safe space. We change our curriculum based on the season of the year, what children are interested in, and what is going on in our community. We speak in both Spanish and English to our students, and look forward to watching them grow into speakers of both languages.
Location
Starting a Little World Wonderschool is located in a welcoming, inviting townhouse in the Bushwick neighborhood.
We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy), reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite), and nature area (for discovering nature and science concepts). At Starting a Little World Wonderschool, I want to provide an enriching environment where children feel free to explore and play.
Children will have some outdoor time everyday in my private yard or outdoor space. Connecting with nature lets children gain deeper knowledge of themselves and the world.
