Philosophy

At our school, exceptional childcare is a promise. To us, that means not only providing a safe, clean, and nurturing environment but also equipping children in our care with the skills they need to thrive in a global society. We intend for our program to be a place where your child spends a phase of their life exploring and unveiling new things about their identity and the world around them. Children will be enriched socially, emotionally, physically and academically through a variety of methods each day. We have 5 major concepts we like to teach under - math, writing & literacy, our world, arts, tech & engineering and lastly, physical & social emotional growth. Pulling inspiration from Montessori and Reggio Emilia learning models, our program really provides an enhanced educational experience that meets the variety of needs young children require. Our curriculum allows for a balance of independent, partner and small group work to familiarize students with many instructional styles. We also teach with dual language instruction, English & Spanish. We recognize the benefits of developing proficiency in more than language from a young age, as children tend to develop better cognitive skills, communication skills and stronger executive function by doing so. We understand that children learn best when their needs are met and they are in an environment that allows for and encourages learning. Our school’s environment, our dedicated staff and our all-encompassing curriculum is a direct reflection of that.

About our program

At Lefferts Garden Promise, exceptional childcare is our promise. To us, that means not only providing a safe, clean, and nurturing environment but also equipping children in our care with the skills they need to thrive in a global society. We employ elements of inquiry-based learning, and we truly value learning through play. It is important to us that we encompass a wide array of themes, subjects and elements crucial for child development. Our school takes inspiration from the Montessori and Reggio Emilia learning models. With that said, we really place emphasis on hands-on learning, developing real-life skills and really working with the child’s natural curiosity. We also provide a dual language program. Students are exposed to both Spanish and English, as we recognize the developmental benefits that come from teaching children more than one language at a young age. We are open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm with the option of extended care until 6:00pm. We offer daily rates, weekly rates and provide a 10% discount for families that opt for our monthly rate.

At our school, one of core values is to provide a community hub where families can gather to learn and celebrate together. Our program’s success is magnified when there is open communication and collaboration amongst our team, parents and the community at large. We host parent nights, where families meet with teachers and administrators to discuss school procedures, events, outreach and policies. We have family day once a month where families are invited to participate in activities during the school day with children.

Our school’s environment was specifically designed to encourage social, emotional, physical and academic growth. We achieve these things by utilizing various tools for fine motor skill development, providing distinct areas for play and social exploration and much much more. We understand that children learn best when their needs are met and they are in an environment that allows for and encourages learning. Our school’s environment, our dedicated staff and our all-encompassing curriculum is a direct reflection of that. If interested, please do not hesitate to reach out and schedule a tour. We would love to have you!
