Our Teachers

Hello! I am Gloria Chavous Johnson, the founder of Just Quality Care Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I have loved working with children since I was young. I have 22 years of experience working with young children. I decided to go into education after watching my mother pave the way during her own work in Early Childhood Education. I was inspired by her and decided to do the same. I have spent time working in Social Work and with elderly individuals, but my true passion is working with young children.

Philosophy

At Just Quality Care, we believe that children should be allowed to enhance and grow at their own pace while learning educational and life skills in multiple ways. We believe that these skills assist them in becoming confident within themselves as learners and leaders of the future.

Amongst many missions, JQC Daycare has two main goals. Our first goal is to expand the minds of children by helping them learn about themselves and world around them. This is done by teaching them through dance, experimentation, mannerism, music and song. We encourage our children to be as independent as they can and help them to do so by allowing them to take charge and be hands-on daily.

Our second goal is to encourage children to feel good about themselves as learners. Children are often shy and have to adjust to being in a social setting with other children and people. Through fairness, praise, rewards, along with teacher and classmate support, we assist children in becoming as comfortable as possible so they can always be at their best.

Just Quality Care believes that the quality of early childhood development is dependent on the connection between parents and their care providers. Location

Just Quality Care Wonderschool is located in a welcoming, spacious single family home in the Bushwick neighborhood.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include block area (for gross motor skills and problem solving), dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy), and art area (for expressing emotions and ideas). Children will have some outdoor time everyday at mix of both my private yard and local parks and playgrounds. Connecting with nature lets children gain deeper knowledge of themselves and the world.

At Just Quality Care Wonderschool, I want to provide an environment that supports the cognitive, social, and emotional growth of each child.

About our program

As much as we love our home based program, we love nothing more than spending time in our community! Part of what makes us special are the trips we take, even to our local parks, aquariums, zoos. We take one special trip each summer that the children love!

Come see what makes Just Quality Care Wonderschool unique. If we are currently hosting tours, you can request or schedule a tour at the top of this page. If we are not currently hosting tours, you’ll see a “Request Info” button at the top of this page; if you submit your information using this button, we will notify you when we start host tours again in the future.

3. Submit an Enrollment Application

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application. Note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
