Our Teachers

Hello! I am Bielka Reyes, the founder of Bright Kids Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I saw a need for high-quality care in my community. I have 8 years of experience working with young children. I speak mostly Spanish, but my assistants are always there to help provide translations for our parents and families!

Alejandra is also a full time associate teacher in the classroom, speaking in both Spanish and English with the children. She provides energy and warmth, and is also excited to get to know your student!

Philosophy

Through our intentionally constructed learning centers, children at Bright Kids Wonderschool will engage in appropriate activities that stimulate them developmentally, socially and emotionally, and help them to develop as whole children! Every day we encourage children to explore and learn more about their interests, try new things, and make friends through play.

Location

Bright Kids Wonderschool is located in a bright, welcoming townhouse in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn. In our home, we want to provide a loving environment where children feel safe and learn new things every day.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy), reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite), and block area (for gross motor skills and problem solving).

Children will have outdoor time everyday in my private yard where they will use outdoor play toys, parachutes and bubbles, participate in seasonal activities such as gardening, and enjoy appropriate sensory activities such as a water table. We believe deeply that children need space to run, jump, and move!
