Hello! My name is Annie Otteson, I am the owner of Ms. Annie and Friends. I am trying to provide a childcare program full of learning for not only my children, but other peoples children. I come from a family of 10 children and have watched children my entire life. I want to provide a program in which allows children to learn for a short period of time of the day. This allows mothers and fathers such as myself to be involved with our child’s day and learning. With almost achieving my associates degree in Early Childhood education I knew I wanted to use my skills for good. I have substituted in Preschool in Esmerelda county. I am also a mother to a 2 year old and a 4 year old. I want to provide a part time childcare learning program that allows mothers and fathers that want to send their child to a part time program, so they will be able to still be with their children throughout the day. I am excited to provide this care for this rural town!
Philosophy
Our program is all about play based hands on learning. We teach children to know values such as, trust, listening, compassion, and so much more. We are play based which allows children to learn and express themselves through play. We are very hands on which allows children to practice and learn new skills everyday.
Location
Ms. Annie and Friends is a home based program in which I want to provide a fun learning environment. We have designed a space in which children can play and learn. There’s an art/craft area, science experiments are provided, dramatic play, toys that will help them with their motor skills, and so much more! There will be days where we will play outside to explore and learn. Weather permitting. If we don’t go outside there are several fun activities that I do with the children that will allow them to move and have fun.
About our program
Our program is all about learning through play. I want to provide fun learning from my home and be able to provide a childcare system for our rural town which allows parents to be involved, and to have children learn through play.
