Our Teachers

Hello! My name is Kushari De Lanerolle and I am so excited to meet you as the director of Kushi’s Montessori and Childcare! I have always had a passion to help children and take care of them and that is why I decided to start my own childcare! I am originally from Sri Lanka and I have been working with children for about 20 years there and in America. During that time, I received my Montessori Diploma, Child Psychology Diploma and a Special Needs Diploma. In addition, I hold a Nevada State License as a Registered Behavior Technician and I am experienced with meeting the needs of children with disabilities. I worked in a Montessori school for about 10 years where I gained knowledge about how to comfort, teach and take care of children. I am currently working as a Registered Behavior Technician where I take care of children that struggle with autism. My childcare has activities for all ages of children and also any children that struggle with any disabilities. I believe that the role of a teacher is to love all children regardless of anything “different” about them. Guiding and giving them knowledge to help them begin their learning steps is something that I advocate and actively do with my job and also what I envision to do with my childcare. The environment of the childcare is friendly, bright and also gives children a space where they can be themselves and be safe while enjoying their childhood. Thank you and I hope to see you soon! A little information about my childcare is that I am licensed for 12 children from newborns up to 7 years. Montessori hours of operation are from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. The childcare operates 24/7. I myself, Kushari Duke De Lanerolle will be your child’s care provider and the teacher.

Philosophy

My philosophy is centred around the belief that children learn best through play. The goal of my program is to create an environment that fosters a child’s natural curiosity, creativity, and love of learning. At Kushi Montessori and Childcare the focus is on your child’s interests, needs, and developmental level. This means all of their activities will be designed to support their own individual growth and development. Play is a natural way for children to learn and explore the world around them. The Montessori method allows children to learn at their own pace with a goal of nurturing each child’s natural desire for knowledge. I will provide a variety of play-based experiences that encourage children to think critically, problem-solve, and develop new skills. I believe that creating an environment that supports children’s natural love of learning through fun, hands-on experiences will set them on a path for lifelong learning and success.

Location

Spring Valley neighborhood presents an ideal location for Kushari’s Child Care & Montessori due to its proximity to notable establishments such as Spring Valley High School and Desert Breeze Park and Community Center. This family-friendly neighborhood serves as a conducive setting for a child care program, allowing children to thrive in a supportive community.

About our program

At Kushi Montessori and Childcare, children will have a lot of learning through hands on activities. They will explore nature, create arts and crafts, practice reading and writing in ways that will allow them to develop a love of learning. We use the interests and ideas of the children as a jumping off place. The materials are open-ended and invite discovery. Children make their own investigations and draw their own conclusions whenever possible.
