Norma Alicia Gutiérrez - Owner, Director of Cuidado con Amor

I have 18 years total in child care. I started as a foster care parent for 6-8 children at a time, and I truly loved caring for them and providing them a safe, nurturing environment. Once my daughters got older, I decided to pause on foster care and focus on caring for my own children until they became older. I started to help with some duties for my grandchildren like picking them up from their child care program. When I would visit them for pick up, I started to notice some gaps in care that were evident among the child cares that I visited. I became passionate again for focusing on my grandchildren and other children, providing them the quality of care and attention that they deserved at their age - and am dedicated to doing so for all the kids under my care.

I’m also CPR certified and I’ve taken various classes in early childhood education, learning how to teach young children and similar subjects that help me be successful as a child care provider. I am eager to continue learning, for example, classes on caring for older children. I am particularly interested in learning how to better support children who have experienced trauma and similar sensitive topics.

Philosophy

I believe all children deserve the highest quality of care, learning and attention. Fun and learning go hand in hand. It is a priority for me to ensure our every day activities are filled with learning, including hands-on art and sensory as well as meaningful ways to learn their basic skills such as ABCs, shapes, etc. Especially for the younger children, I am passionate about helping them get a head start on learning so when they do hit school age they have already advanced in many of their milestones.

Location

We are located near Apodaca Park and La Reyna Michoacana Paleteria, which is perfect for field trips to play and enjoy ice cream!

About our program

Somos una casa regristrada con todas las reglas adequadas que requiere el estado. Tiene la comodidad de que su pequeno se sienta como si estubier en casa. Y de igual manera ustedes sientan que su nin@ esta bien cuidado.

We are a small registered home with all the appropriate requirements the state asks. You have the comfort that your little one feels like they are at home. And in the same way you feel that your child is well cared for.
