Bethany Aranda

Our Teachers

My name is Bethany Aranda and I am the director/teacher in my home. I am currently a licensed k-8 level II teacher. I have a Master’s degree in Education and have earned many credit hours in Childhood Development. I previously taught at Head Start and a couple other daycares in Roswell prior to moving to Carlsbad where I taught middle school for just under 5 years. I personally believe that children learn best through play as well as watching what the adults around them do, meaning teachers participate in and facilitate play. I also love to have STEM days where the children get to help conduct mini experiments. The more children enjoy learning the more they will want to be at school and participate.

I am a mother to 3 boys. My oldest two are in high school and my youngest is 3 and at home with me. My husband works in the oilfield and is off on Fridays and will help with “fun” Fridays which will be our STEM days. I love teaching and I love helping children love to learn by making it fun.

Philosophy

At my school I strive to create a safe environment where all children feel happy to come and learn. I feel that children who feel safe in their environment will flourish and want to learn.

Location

My location is in a quiet neighborhood, with neighbors who look out for one another. I have retired school employees in both houses next door, a homeschool group down the street, a doctor across the street, and many other great people in surrounding houses which help provide a safety net. We are close to the hospital as the fire station.

About our program

Our program focus on learning through play. We include STEM days because it is fun to do experiments and the children get so excited to participate. We do follow the Carlsbad Municipal School schedule but include the conference days. We will be open during the Summer but will create a schedule that fits our vacation and holiday times.
