My name is Shannon an I am the owner and of Wild Child Daycare. I am originally from Canada and love To go back to visit with family when I can. Myself and my four children (19, 12, 6, and 3) live in my home along with our Alaskan Malamute, Jinques; our cat Daniel Tiger; and our Australian Blue Tongued skink, True Blue.
I began babysitting at a young age for family and friends and continued in high school by working at a local daycare when not in class. As years went on I went to school to pursue Social Work and International Rescue and Relief. After my third child, I decided to open my own in home child care.
I have always loved providing opportunities to children and watching them learn and explore. From exploring and learning in all types of weather, trying new activities such as dance class, wrestling, gymnastics, being a kind caring friend, and how to prepare for the world That waits for them after their time spent with our group.
One of my passions is to give back to the community. I try to do so in any small ways that I can. Some of those include volunteering at my child’s school and the activities that they participate in. Most of all, I like helping others find the joy of giving and helping their community in ways that they thought wouldn’t have made a difference. I also live thatI can show the children in my care that it is enjoyable to do beginning at a young age and allowing children to see and be a part in their community.

Testimonials
I am grateful for the loving care and guidance my children received while attending Shannon’s child care. She was so patient and understanding of my daughters challenges and treated her with respect and encouraged growth and positive decisions. Shannon worked with the early childhood intervention program through LPS with my youngest and encouraged him to be more social through play and activities, he now is a very outgoing kiddo. She taught the children and took them to the parks and zoo often, which the kids loved. As a parent I entrusted her with my kids and she captured their hearts and she became more than just a childcare provider. Words cannot express the thanks that my family has for Shannon and her daycare.
Philosophy
Playing and spending time outdoors goes hand in hand. Each day we strive to spend as many hours as we can outside and allow for lots of child led play. Through nature we learn many things, including jumping, climbing, counting, playing with others, habitats, and so much more. There is only so much time while they are young to play and grow and now is the time to take advantage of it. We strive to follow “No such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing” and go outside every day to explore and learn.
