Saydee Hardesty, Toddler Lead Teacher & Assistant Director
I have many years of experience working with kids! Most recently, I was a lead infant teacher for Stepping Stones Child Academy in Lincoln, and I loved it!
My passion for helping kids develop started from a young age. I have always enjoyed being an influential part in the children’s lives! While I resided in Humboldt, I spent many hours as a volunteer youth coach for softball, basketball, and volleyball.
I am currently pursuing a degree in business at Southeast Community College.
In my free time I love watching sports activities, and learning new things! I’m excited for the opportunity to move back home and to be a part of HTRS Early Learning Center !

Philosophy
Parenting is the single most influential experience in early childhood growth and development. HTRS Early Learning Center aims to support parents in providing safe, quality child care and experiences to promote a child’s wellbeing and ability to thrive.
Our program is a place where children can learn through doing, invent through making, and solve problems by working together.
Location
We are located on the corner of 9th and Lincoln Street, the North Western portion of the HTRS Public Schools parking lot.
About our program
HTRS Early Learning Center provides a high quality infant and toddler program for children ages six weeks old through three years. (Our program encourages children that are of preschool age to receive care and education at HTRS Public Schools during the academic year. It is our hope to be able to expand our program to provide preschool and elementary school-age children care and education during the summer of 2025! We appreciate your patience as we strive to expand our childcare services.)
The goal of HTRS Early Learning Center is to support children’s development and wellbeing. Child development is carefully observed by Lead Teachers and becomes the basis for an individual plan to support the child’s growth and learning; stimulating activities and environments are provided to assist in this process. HTRS Early Learning Center recognizes that parents are the most important persons in their child’s life. The child care provider becomes a partner with parents and supports the relationship between them and their child.
Our program is committed to continuous quality improvement. Lead Teachers will receive coaching, support, and resources from Step-Up-To-Quality until HTRS Early Learning Center reaches the highest quality of care! Also, the Infant and Toddler classrooms will be evaluated once a semester [every year] using Nebraska’s Core Competencies for Early Childhood Professionals and the Infant and Toddler Environment Rating Scale (ITERS) assessment. Furthermore, parents have the opportunity to participate in a family survey twice per year to provide feedback about quality of care and overall experience/satisfaction.
We offer seasonal childcare for school-age children (ages 4YO-8YO) that costs $30 per day at a rate of $150 per week. Our school-age program has will consists of: DAILY (1) literacy and math activities, (2) indoor and outdoor play, and (3) structured rest/relax time field trip; (4) frequent creative arts and local community-engagement opportunities, and (5) a field trip ONCE per week. The School-Age Program is located at the HTRS school building in the preschool classroom, separate of the HTRS Early Learning Center.
