Our Teachers

Hi, I am Julie Page. Owner and Director of Little Jewels Family Child Care Home since 2011. During my first year of operation, I participated in the North Carolina Rated License Assessment Project and moved up from a one-star to a five-star program. I am a firm believer in children having the opportunity to be a part of high-quality early childhood programs, and work towards this goal alongside the Children’s Council of Watauga County. I am accredited by The Pathways to Accreditation Program hosted by The Children’s Council to raise the quality of Early Childhood Education in Watauga County. Since opening a family childcare home, I have worked towards my Early Childhood Associate’s degree and graduated in 2018. I have enjoyed working with children my entire life beginning with babysitting, then teaching Sunday school, becoming a Sunday school director, having 5 of my own children, then public school substituting, and finally opening my own family childcare home. I have been happily married 35 years and the thing that makes my husband and I most proud in life is our children.

Testimonials

My son loved going to Mrs. Julie’s every single day. Julie offered play based learning opportunities that left a lasting impression on him. She sparked his love for learning that remains in him today. I was constantly impressed with what he was learning and how he could apply it. I was also appreciative of her open communication and willingness to help with any of my concerns. Amber

Philosophy

I believe that the first years of a child’s life is the most important, helping to lay the foundation for all intellectual and emotional development. Through nurturing and individualized attention, I take great care to provide a warm, friendly, and fun environment for your child. I strive to nurture your child’s ideas and imagination, acknowledge each child’s individuality, and validate each personality. My goal is to provide a place where children know that they are loved by helping to instill in each child a strong sense of self-worth and purpose. My job is to make sure that each child has numerous positive experiences and interactions throughout each day. It is also my job to teach social skills that will last a lifetime. I strive to individualize learning to meet the needs of each child. It is my hope that children will learn to respect others and themselves. My goal is  that when the day is done, and children go home, they feel happy and proud of themselves; eager to express the happenings of their busy day.

Each day I feel privileged to have the opportunity to see the world through the eyes of a child, to join in their laughter, and to be a part of their lives. Therefore, my mission is to build your trust by being professional, dependable, honest, and informative, most importantly caring for your child and family the same way I would want my own children and family to be cared for and treated.
