Janice Beverly, the Director and teacher at Joyful Gems. She is licensed to own and operate at home childcare. Janice has over 5 years working with young children. When she became a grandmother she realized the disparities of childcare centers that provide children and families in her area well rounded education including SEL and STEAM curriculum.

Nicole Beverly, an elementary educator for almost a decade with experience with all ages from 2 - 16 years. She loves to work and empower children to become their best selves.

Philosophy

At Joyful Gems we believe in real life hands on play experiences leading our children’s learning. Through our play based curriculum our children explore a variety of new opportunities such as planting, STEAM activties (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. We also value social emotional learning as well as cultural diversity experiences. We believe if our children begin to learn and explore their own feelings, thoughts and other’s cultural differences, they will be young leaders in elementary school.

About our program

Joyful Gems puts our children and family first at all times. We educate our children and help support the parents with community resources they might need. We understand the value of children learning about social emotional learning and cultural education. We equip our children with the key tools, resources, and experiences to be prepared to attend elementary school as a young leader.
