Jamila, Owner & Lead Caregiver
Jamila is a Charlotte business owner who founded In the Right Hands Family Child Care to give local families care they can trust ,from infancy through the after school years . She has 11 years of experience caring for children, including certifications. As a mother, she knows how important it is to leave your child with someone who treats them like family. Her favorite part of this work is building real relationships with each child and their family. She believes a small, home style setting let’s her know every child as an individual and give them a safe, loving foundation to grow, learn, and thrive.
Philosophy
Our program is all about making sure every child is in the right hands : Safe ,loved, and learning every day . We follow a play based approach, because children learn best by exploring, creating , and connecting with others . Our days mix free play with simple guided activities such as story times, early letters and numbers,art, music and movement,and outdoor play. Infants get responsive, one on one care on their own schedules, preschoolers build school readiness skills, and school age kids get homework help and a calm, fun place to unwind after school. Our core values are safety, kindness, respect, and family. Mixed ages let children learn from each other like siblings do, and small group sizes mean every child is truly known. We keep parents update daily, because you are our partners in your child’s care.
Location
Our location is in a quiet, safe residential neighborhood in Charlotte with 24 hour security patrol, so families can feel at ease at drop off, pick up ,and all day long . Cameras are on the premises. The community has a park nearby, where children enjoy fresh air , outdoor play , and room to run and explore, plus a community pool with life guard. Our home offers a calm, family style settings away from busy roads, and we’re conveniently located for commuting parents. We are close by Ridge Road Middle School , Corivan Carter School and Mallard Creek Elementary School, making before and after school care easy . Transportation is offered.
