Our Teachers

Georgia Lewis has a bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies from MSU. She also has a associate degree in Early Childhood Education from Brown Mackie School. On this educational journey she has acquired many certificates but two being of recent, CDA in early childhood and MS Credential for directors.

All teachers here at GeeWhiz care about the safety of your scholar and ALL teachers are CPR and first Aid trained and are suitable to work, according to MSDH regulations. A variety of teachers have attained degrees and others have their high school diploma.

We value each scholar’s individual strengths so that we may build upon that, and nurture their unique abilities, and teach the whole child. We believe we can close the achievement gap between pre-kindergarten and kindergarten. We believe every scholar is a star.

Testimonials

GeeWhiz is a school that cares about my little ones.

Philosophy

Learning through constructive and meaningful play is what drives us here at GeeWhiz. We believe that every scholar shows the teacher a glimpse of their talents. We believe every scholar is a star.

Location

We are on the strip South, 3 blocks down, near Ricks Memorial Library, Triangle Cultural Center, Bank Of Yazoo City, Regions Bank and the Yazoo Post Office. Our street is a busy Main Street area where yearly parades and flea markets/bands occur. Close to dining, you can choose Toms and Signatures restaurants. And yes, there is plenty to do and see in the downtown Main Street area!

About our program

At GeeWhiz It’ Center Time in Yazoo City, children thrive in a safe and secure learning environment. Our program fosters school readiness and social skills through interactive, hands-on experiences. We stand out for our use of a Christian curriculum, Abeka, where all teachers focus on closing the gap between pre-school and kindergarten.
