Our Teachers

Patricia Poticher received her CDA this year in 2023. Mrs. Poticher is the director of the Travelers Rest Early Learning Center. Her favorite thing about what she does is developing relationships with the children that she teaches and their families. She believes that small class sizes and the development of a strong community allow her and her team to know each child individually and to provide a solid and supportive foundation in the early years.

LaQuita Evans is the learning center secretary, event coordinator, and a floater as needed. She finds being around children uplifting and energizing, especially when invited to view the world through their lens and explore their curiosity with them. Their abundant creativity, playfulness and innocence feels therapeutic to her.

Philosophy

At our school, we strive to create a safe and caring community of young explorers. Our program is where children can learn through doing, invent through making, and solve problems by working together. We believe that magic happens when children are truly engaged with their environment. Our team of experienced and innovative teachers creates a space driven by the interests and ideas of the children who inhabit it.

About our program

At our School, we are Christian-based. We teach math, science, art, social sciences, and early literacy on the Abeka curriculum through our play-based, child-led curriculum. We use the interests and ideas of the children as a jumping-off place. The materials are open-ended and invite discovery. Children make their investigations and conclude whenever possible. We offer After School to help kids learn more and help tutor them with their homework. We take field trips to parks and educational museums. We do art projects centered around those days during the holiday season and have holiday parties. We participate in fundraising projects. We will be having a Family Movie Day as well.
