Our Teachers

Denise Williams is the sole proprietor and director of the child care program. Ms. Williams has 20+ years of experience working in child care facilities and federal Head Start programs. Our leadership team includes Director, Education Manager, and Advisory Committee. All teachers meet the minimum qualifications required by the Mississippi State Department of Health. Our classrooms operate at a 4 to 1 Child-Teacher ratio.

Philosophy

We believe that as children play, they gain skills that last a lifetime. For example, our Block Class may produce Architects and Construction Workers. Our Dramatic Play Class may produce Chefs, Doctors, Police Officers, Firefighters, Entrepreneurs, Mothers, and Fathers. Our STEM Class may produce Scientists, Surgeons, Engineers, and Technicians. Our Literacy Class may produce Authors, Teachers, and World Travelers. Our Outdoor Class may produce Athletes and Coaches. At Young Learners Academy, our children receive a wide variety of hands-on experiences which will help to stimulate their desire for learning. Here, we believe it is an honor to help build the brains of our future leaders.

Location

We are conveniently located one block east of the Intersection for Hwy 49N & Hwy 49S. So whether you commute to Greenwood, Canton, or Jackson, we are on your way! We are housed in the Good Samaritan Church, a historical landmark in the town.

About our program

Our program provides a safe and healthy environment for children to develop physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually. We offer full day preschool for ages 2.5-4 years, and after school tutoring for ages 5-12 years Monday through Friday. We focus on play based learning and provide developmentally appropriate activities.
