Dr. Angela Bonner, Director
Dr. Bonner graduated from Liberty University in 2020 with an Education Specialist (EdS) degree. In 2022, she realized her dream of having her childcare program due to her impending retirement from the public school system. Her favorite thing about opening a childcare program was developing relationships with the children she teaches and their families. She believes that development begins early and sets the stage for success. She has 25 years of public school experience and 3 years of early childhood experience working as an interventionist for the Mississippi Department of Health First Steps Program.
Philosophy
Our educational philosophy is deeply rooted in the belief that young children are natural explorers and learners. We embrace a play-based and child-centered approach to early education, which acknowledges the following principles:
Child-Centered Learning: We recognize that each child is a unique individual with their interests, strengths, and developmental pace. Our curriculum and teaching methods are tailored to meet the needs of each child, fostering their innate curiosity and love for learning.
Play-Based Exploration: Play is the cornerstone of early childhood development. We view play as a powerful tool for cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth. It provides children with opportunities to problem-solve, express themselves, and develop essential skills.
Hands-On Experiences: We prioritize hands-on, experiential learning. Children learn best when they can engage with their environment, manipulate objects, and discover concepts through firsthand experiences.
Social and Emotional Development: We understand the importance of nurturing a child’s social and emotional well-being. Our program fosters positive relationships, emotional intelligence, empathy, and conflict-resolution skills.
Holistic Growth: We aim to support the holistic development of each child, encompassing cognitive, physical, social, and emotional domains. Our curriculum includes a balance of academic readiness and personal development.
Collaboration with Families: We value open communication and collaboration with parents and caregivers. We see families as essential partners in a child’s education and involve them in the learning process.
Respect and Inclusivity: We create a diverse and inclusive environment where every child’s background, culture, and abilities are respected and celebrated. We teach children the values of respect, kindness, and acceptance.
Continuous Learning: Our educators are lifelong learners. We stay updated on the latest research in early childhood education to continually improve our teaching practices and provide the best educational experiences for our students.
Safe and Nurturing Environment: We prioritize the safety and well-being of our students. Our preschool is a secure, warm, and welcoming space where children feel comfortable and supported.
Joy of Learning: Above all, we aim to instill in children a lifelong love for learning. We believe that when learning is enjoyable and meaningful, it sets the stage for a lifetime of curiosity and personal growth.
