Our Teachers
As a mother of 3 young children and a lover of Jesus, family, books and outdoors, I aim to inspire every child to fall in love with Jesus as well as reading, writing and arithmetic. I believe that giving children purpose in the family is a necessary gift that develops world changers and positive members of society. This can be accomplished with even the simplest actions, like putting dishes away and cooperating with others. I have enjoyed working with kids even as a teenager. My vision for children and the impact a teacher can have on a youngster is a profound blessing. I would be honored to meet with you to see if we can collaborate on your child’s education to see them blossom into the person God sees them as!
Philosophy
At Sharpening Arrows Academy the way we do school stems from a love of God and a love of learning. We learn from children’s Bibles daily, we learn to work hard with and serve others in the home as well as our community, and do so in a way that displays the fruit of the Spirit as a reflection of God working in our lives. We choose to operate with excellence, always having grace for mistakes within our desire to be great. Keeping things simple and also challenging ourselves is a task that I love to oversee. We use Montessori-inspired thinking that is Biblically based and encourages the individual child to own their life.
Our main values are: Love the Lord with our whole heart Respect ourselves and others Wonder about our created world
Location
Child-proof and toddler-friendly, my home has clean play rooms and a backyard always available for play and discovery. Located in a quiet neighborhood, it’s a short walk to a city park that has ample open space. We have a friendly mini-Australian Shepherd who loves children and considers them his “puppies.”
About our program
SAA offers an excellent half-day program for littles up through kindergarten to fall in love with God and learning. I would like parents to be as involved as possible, because there is no better teacher than the one who loves the child most—the parent. Parents are encouraged to participate every day or rotate 2-3 days per week, so they can be engaged with the journey and enjoy watching their child learn. I would like to do field trips outside of the home, like going to parks, children’s museums, seasonal experiences etc. and this will be based on adults available for commutes and chaperoning.
