Our Teachers

We are Preterra and Delani, wives, moms and business partners! We have been together for 9 years and the dearest of friends for many more. We have created a beautiful foundation of love, gratitude, respect, team work and deep devotion and upon that We have welcomed two children, who are now 3 and 1. We love working together as a family and inviting children into our home to share in our world. Together we bring decades of experience to the table ~ stemming from learning the delicate ways and uniquness of child guidance as we observed our own childhood experience, expanded as mother’s helpers, built confidence as sitters and supported families in more intricate ways on into adulthood as private nannies. We spread our wings as small play group hosts and dove into the vein of education we feel most passionate about by holding space for Preterra to spend some time in the waldorf classroom as an assistant preschool and toddler teacher. We continue to expand on our passion for early childhood education through classes, trainings, books, podcasts and organically growing and expanding in community. We have worked with so many incredible families and feel truly blessed to bring our experience into our new endeavor. We are transforming and rising to meet the moment as we open our new home program. Orb Weaver Preschool is something we dreamed up many moons ago and it has finally come to fruition. We are here. Parenting with consciousness and ready to gently guide the children in our care. With offerings from the heart, we warmly welcome you.

Philosophy

We believe in play based and nature based approaches to early childhood education. We also place emphasis on leading children in arts and crafts that use quality supplies and natural materials. We gently guide children and show them how to honor the natural world and give them the space to magnify the parallels in nature within us and around us.

Location

We are located in the Powderhorn Neighborhood of South Minneapolis. We are just a few short blocks from both Powderhorn and Corcoran park. Our lovely Neighborhood is diverse and welcoming to all types of families. We live on a sweet and quiet street with neighbors that truly look out for one another. We are accessible by bus as well.

About our program

Feel Free to visit our website at www.orbweaverpreschool.com Orb Weaver Preschool is a Waldorf-Inspired program in a beautiful, eclectic, non traditional home setting. We have created a rhythm that centers meaningful connections, creativity, the exploration of our natural world and highlights the unique gifts that our community has to offer. Our students will be immersed in a delightful atmosphere of artistic and play based expression both indoors and outdoors , juicing, walks and hikes and most importantly, loving friendship! We help children develop awareness of self and other by lovingly teaching them accountability and affirmations. One of the unique things about our program is our dedication to nourishing the entire family unit. We believe that the success and happiness of the children in our care will largely depend on how supported their parents feel in their own inner and outer realities. We want to make sure that the parents in our circle feel the same deeply healing sense of support and genuine care that we offer our students. This is why we are proud to offer one date night opportunity a month! It will always be a Friday evening from 4-7. We hope that this gives parents the opportunity to connect with themselves and others mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. At Orb Weaver Preschool we offer our families a variety of opportunities to connect with US through parent skill sharing days, special events, conferences and slower drop offs once a month during these date nights.
