Janine Thomas, Director
As the Director of The Curiosity Cove, I bring over 15 years of experience in youth-focused programs and education, combined with a deep passion for creating nurturing and enriching environments for children. My background includes mentoring youth through organizations like Big Brother Big Sister for 15 years, leading a Girl Scout troop, and serving in key leadership roles for nonprofits that support children and families. These experiences have taught me the importance of fostering safe spaces where young minds can thrive, no matter the time of day or night.
In addition to my childcare expertise, I am the Founder and Vice President of Beyond the City, an organization dedicated to providing teens with cultural and educational travel experiences. Through Beyond the City, I’ve helped over 100 youth explore new horizons, such as flying for the first time and visiting historical colleges and universities. These transformative opportunities inspire confidence, curiosity, and a sense of possibility in young people.
My commitment to childcare is deeply personal and shaped by my own experiences. Growing up in a close-knit community, I learned the value of support, curiosity, and education. At The Curiosity Cove, I strive to provide families—especially those with nontraditional schedules—a dependable and loving environment where children are encouraged to grow, dream, and discover their potential.
