Our Teachers

My name is Mrs. Pamela Young, and I am a proud homeowner and the founder of My Charm’s Childcare Learning Center. After working at the Detroit Medical Center for 22 years, I realized that my job there was no longer fulfilling. Leaving with a smile on my face, I embarked on a new journey. The First Lady at my church had been seeking someone to work at the childcare center, and one Sunday, I decided to give it a try. This turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, as the smiles of those little faces instantly brightened my days.

In 2021, I began taking classes, and by 2022, I was working as a lead teacher in my church’s childcare learning center, caring for a group of three- and four-year-olds. This experience ignited my passion for working with children.

I am blessed with a blended family made with love, including three adult daughters, one stepson, and three younger children, two of whom are adopted. Their ages are 28, 25, 22, 18, 13, 12, and 10. I fostered my adopted children for four years before adopting them after their mother tragically passed away while preparing to reunite with them. I couldn’t let them go after such a devastating loss.

Being a mother is a great blessing. I cherish the time I spend with children and how much I learn from them. Children are incredibly smart, and I enjoy watching them learn and play. Working with children is immensely rewarding. I love having a positive impact on their lives and seeing their growth as they become confident and self-sufficient.

At My Charm’s Childcare Learning Center, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by feeling safe, cared for, and nurtured. In our home-based childcare center, children receive one-on-one attention and personalized care, fostering strong friendships and a sense of ease in a comfortable environment without feeling overwhelmed. As a play-based learning childcare center, we embrace the power of play as a primary tool for learning and exploration. We provide ample opportunities for imaginative play, sensory experiences, and hands-on activities that promote curiosity, problem-solving, and creativity, ensuring a holistic and enjoyable learning experience for every child.

Located in the heart of St. Clair Shores, just off the 696 freeway, our childcare program is housed in the biggest, most welcoming home on the block. This convenient location ensures easy access for busy families while providing a spacious and secure environment for your children to learn and grow. With ample room for play and education, our facility stands out as a premier choice for quality childcare in the community.

About our program

At My Charm’s Childcare in St. Clair Shores, we pride ourselves on fostering a warm and welcoming atmosphere where dedicated teachers provide a nurturing and educational setting for children. Our unique program offers enriching activities in music, arts, and sports, which significantly enhance early learning experiences. In our home-based preschool environment, children feel secure and cherished, allowing them to thrive. Serving children ages 12 months-13 years, our program emphasizes learning through child-driven inquiry and exploration, ensuring that each child develops a love for learning in a supportive and engaging setting.
