Our Teachers

Hi, my name is Ms. Pruitt and I am home based childcare provider. I have taught early preschool at a daycare center, caring for children aged 0-5 since 2016. I hold an Associate’s Degree in Child Development, and I have completed all the necessary trainings including CPR, First Aid, and safe sleep. I believe in the importance of continuous professional development, and I actively participate in relevant workshops and courses to ensure that I am offering the best care and learning experiences for children. I follow the high scope curriculum, which focuses on active learning and hands-on experiences. I absolutely love teaching and providing children with a patient and loving environment. It is so rewarding to see them learn and grow, and their excitement and curiosity bring so much joy to my day.

Philosophy

As a provider at a home-based childcare program that implements play-based learning and utilizes the High Scope curriculum, I am proud to create an environment where children can thrive. Play-based learning is an approach that recognizes the importance of play in a child’s development. It allows children to explore, create, and imagine while engaging in activities that are both fun and educational. In my program, you will find children joyfully singing, dancing, and moving between play areas, all while learning. Throughout the entire day, they are actively absorbing knowledge, from recognizing numbers to identifying letters. But it’s not just about academics; we also place a strong emphasis on social-emotional learning. We encourage children to express their feelings and emotions, teaching them how to collaborate and work together. Repetition is used strategically within play-based learning to reinforce foundational skills, ensuring that children develop a strong foundation for future learning.

Location

My program is near Gratiot and Memorial, a few blocks behind Macomb Mall. There is a bus line close by on Gratiot.

I have a large fenced-in backyard where the children are able to run and play. They have access to outdoor play items such as a slide and a seesaw.
