Hilarie Krumm, Owner/Director/Lead Teacher

Hilarie graduated with honors from Michigan State University in 1993 with a BS in Child Development and Teaching. Upon graduation she started teaching preschool in this program when it was her mother’s school. (Shirley Hodge Nursery School) Later after taking several years off to raise her 4 children, she began teaching in the program again. In 2015, her mother retired and Hilarie took over the preschool and moved it to her home, transforming her lower level into a fun preschool classroom. She loves to teach the kids even more than necessary so that when they get to kindergarten they can start off at the top of their class and hopefully keep that going as their education progresses. And most importantly instill in them Christian values, such as being kind and caring to all those around them!

Michelle Wilkinson (“Miss Michelle”), Teacher Michelle’s fun and playful spirit make her a joy to be around. She is also a mother of 4 and works at New Hope Church, as well. We are blessed to have her with us!

Kara Plimpton (“Miss Kara”), Teacher Kara is a mom of 3 who loves kids and enjoys interacting with them. The kids love Miss Kara’s sweet and kind disposition and we are so blessed to have her on our team!

Hilarie has done an incredible job of making her preschool feel warm, welcoming and loving. Our girls loved their years at preschool and we enjoyed all of the special activities and traditions, from the Nativity play to X Marks the Spot day. During their time at Hilarie’s preschool, the girls learned so much that prepared them for kindergarten, from reading and letter sounds to working well with others. They also made many wonderful friendships that have continued into their school years. In addition to preschool, Hilarie offers wonderful summer camps and movie nights for kids so parents can have a night out. She’s a local treasure and we’re so thankful for her presence and influence on our daughters’ lives.

I can firmly say that even with all the glowing reviews as a base, Miss Hilarie has met and has exceeded every one of our expectations. Miss Hilarie is quick to respond, thorough and provides lots of wonderfully detailed communication to parents and caregivers on a frequent basis. Even more note-worthy, however, is the caring, patient, nurturing environment she cultivates in her program from the get-go. Our youngest is shy and was nervous to start preschool (her first time away from home) but she immediately took to Miss Hilarie because she knows she is safe, loved and supported there. We have nothing but high praise and so much love for Miss Hilarie!

Easily hands down. Not even a question in my mind. I sent my daughter there because the school that she was attending I didn’t think was preparing her for kindergarten academically and not only was she more than prepared, but she is excelling among her peers. I love the aspect of learning about the Bible and having Jesus in the school and overall just the teachers are so kind, respectful and fun. The kids have a great time. I have now had my son attending and I would recommend it for every family because they’re able to differentiate, they’re able to meet the kids where they’re at and to challenge them and the environment is just so positive and loving. It’s just a great invite.

Although our program is play-based, we provide a highly academic component to well-prepare the children for kindergarten and beyond!
