Our Teachers

Holly is a wife and mom of 6 children. She and her family live on a small rural farm in a beautiful country setting. She has had experience caring for children for 24 years. Holly has been actively homeschooling for 4 years consecutively and 6 years in total. She believes that a child between the ages of 0 to 7 learns best by play and hands-on activities. She also believes that independent play helps encourage curiosity, confidence and creativity. She aims to see each child as an individual and help them by finding what best works for them when it comes to playing and learning independently and with a group.

Philosophy

Our program is a wonderful family setting, a home away from home for your child. We play as a group and learn through doing. With a family focus, we eat together, encourage each other, and grow together.

Location

Storybook Acres is located in a rural country setting. We are a small farm with lots of room to play and explore. Located across from an active dairy farm, we get to see lots of tractors, big trucks and cows. This always brings so much joy to littles. We also have 13 hens and a rooster we care for.

About our program

At Storybook Acres Child Care in Lake City, children thrive in a warm and loving atmosphere that fosters independence. We encourage open-ended play and invite discovery.
