Our Teachers

Home schooling and traveling with our own 4 children over the past 12 years allowed us to develop a passion for a life of learning. Through real life and world experiences, and taking up this huge (scary at times) and difficult as well as priceless experience of home schooling our own children. My husband, the director, is a doctor of law (JD) from Cooley Law School (Western Michigan). He also has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Pre- Law from Michigan State University. For grade school he attended Dukette Catholic school, and Powers Catholic for high school. As For me I struggled a lot in my grade school years. I attended college and tried many career paths. I eventually dropped out of college and began to pursue many different professions. I tried being a personal trainer, nursing assistant, private investigators assistant, hair technician, and group home manager. Through it all I found out that I am an entrepreneur by nature and a life learner by heart. I have opened many small businesses and this one is where my purpose and passion really is. So, we believe curiosity must be stimulated to obtain full individual focus and teachers must be willing to learn while teaching each and every one of our students. So that they can be prepared to become tomorrow’s leaders.

Philosophy

Founded in the early 20th century, Waldorf education is based on the insights, teachings and principles of education outlined by the world renowned artist, and scientist, Rudolf Steiner. The principles of Waldorf education evolve from an understanding of human development that address the needs of the growing child.

Music, dance and theater, writing, literature, legends and myths are not simply subjects to be read about and tested. They are experienced. Through these experiences, Waldorf students cultivate their intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual capacities to be individuals certain of their paths and to be of service to the world.

Location

We are located in Genesee Township’s near many parks and recreation areas that are truly one of the hidden gems in Michigan. We have miles upon miles of protected parks property that distinguishes our area from any other in the State. Here you will find an extensive bike/walking trail, a 650-acre lake, an Off-Road Vehicle Park, Equestrian trails, and fairgrounds, among many others to physically explore while learning and having hands on fun. And just in case you haven’t heard, smack dab in the middle of Genesee Township sits world famous Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad. This is a turn of the century village with a full size replica train that runs along Mott Lake and through our downtown area. Whether you are looking for a day at the beach, relaxing stroll through the woods, or a weekend fishing trip Genesee Township has it all.
