Our Teachers

Nicole Shaw, Director Hi, my name is Ms. Nicole and I am a home-based childcare provider. I have been working in the childcare industry for over 30 years, and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. I am also fortunate enough to have 7 wonderful grandchildren, who have been my biggest motivation in starting my own home-based program. I am CPR and First Aid certified, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children in my care. One of the things I love most about my job is guiding children through their learning journey. It brings me so much joy to see them grow, develop, and discover new things every day. I am passionate about creating community and helping both parents and their children.

We assist in all areas of development. We take into consideration your child’s individuality. A versatile approach to growth academically, spiritually and physically. We take pride in self paced development.

Philosophy

When taking the holistic approach, we focus on your child learning to love themselves as well as others. It’s not all business, we’ve also developed a plan to be able to make learning fun!

This means that we are singing, dancing, and active while learning! There is an “I can do it” attitude that our staff embodies, and we want to pass that on to each child in our care. We will encourage children to explore, take chances, and learn on their own with our guidance.

Location

We are located on the east side of Detroit with easy access to I-94 and multiple bus lines. We are close to the Chrysler plant.

We have a fenced-in yard with plenty of open play space and outdoor toys for children.

About our program

We offer a safe and healthy environment for your child to both learn and grow. We have a holistic approach to learning. This means that we focus on building self-love, respect, and appreciation in children. We want children to help others and respect each other as individuals.

As children in our care approach school age, we add in a focus on preparing them with the skills they will need when they transition into a school environment. This includes foundational knowledge such as letter and number recognition and functional skills such as basic technology use and fine motor like pencil grip.

To support the additional needs of families, we offer transportation services for our children.
