Our Teachers

Amanda Johnson, Director

Amanda is a mother of 4. She chose to enter the world of Early Child Education over 6 year ago after volunteering at her youngest daughters child care center. She was encourage to take this journey, because she wanted to be able to provide her students with an enriching curriculum while also learning the appropriate ways to gage a child’s development stages. Since, Amanda has earned a CDA in Preschool from the Council for Professional Recognition in 2022 and is a semester away from earning her degree in Early Child Education from Schoolcraft College. Children truly are her passion. She states that this center is her dream job and she loves being able to help families within the community.

Ashley Smith, Site Supervisor

Ashley is a mother of 6. She holds a Bachelors in Criminal Justice from Madonna University and has obtained her CDA, also. She has seen the impact that a stable foundation can have for a child within our community which led her to Early Child Education and her desire to help families. Taking care of such a large family herself, she says is what prepared her for time within the classroom. She enjoys helping children discover their passions and helping in being a navigator to preparing them for their primary years in their future endeavors. She appreciates you all trusting your little ones with us.

Philosophy

Little Miss Eve’s Child Day Care & Academy believes that the best foundation to a successful journey into education is only presented when a child is given the opportunity to grow and develop in an environment where it nurtures positivity, the children feel loved, they are allowed to be individual thinkers, and it promotes a supportive educational atmosphere. When parents and educators work together to promote these types of environments, it benefits not only the child, but their family, the community, and our future.

About our program

Our program is all about a child- lead, play- based, earth friendly, environment. We introduce our children to different subjects such as math, science, engineering, art, and early literacy along with a few others. We allow the children within our care to express their creativity and ideas and we build as their teachers upon the child’s experiences and meet them where they are. Each child is an individual within our center, and we make it an effort to make sure each family feels that their child is receiving the appropriate individual care even in a full class setting.
