Our Teachers

As a professional with a Doctorate in Business Administration specializing in Global Supply Chain Management, I bring a unique set of skills to the field of childcare. My career has focused on strategic planning, cost management, and risk mitigation, skills that I now apply in creating a well-organized, efficient, and nurturing environment for children.

My team and I understand that the foundations for success in life are built early, which is why we are dedicated to providing a structured yet flexible environment that allows children to grow, learn, and thrive. I hold an MBA in Global Supply Chain Management & Finance from Wayne State University, and my international study experiences in China and Brazil have broadened my understanding of diverse cultures and educational approaches, something I incorporate into our childcare philosophy. Our childcare staff consists of experienced professionals who share my commitment to fostering a positive and supportive environment. Each staff member brings 5 years of experience in childcare and holds relevant certifications in early childhood education, CPR, and First Aid. Many also have specialized training in developmental psychology or behavioral guidance, ensuring we can meet the needs of all children, including those with special needs. While my professional career in business and global supply chain management has been rewarding, it’s my role as a father to five children that truly drives my passion for working with children. Family is at the heart of everything I do. The lessons I’ve learned as a parent—about resilience, adaptability, and teamwork—are qualities I strive to bring to my professional work, and I share these values with the children in my care.

Balancing my career and family life has given me a deep appreciation for the importance of time management, patience, and creating a positive, structured environment for children to learn and grow. My experiences with my own children remind me daily of the importance of instilling these values in young people and the power of nurturing their curiosity and creativity. At the core of our childcare approach is a focus on developing not only academic skills but also emotional intelligence, social skills, and an understanding of teamwork. Every day is an opportunity to inspire and empower children to reach their full potential.

Philosophy

At First Starters Academy, we believe that childhood is a time of endless discovery and boundless potential. Our play-based curriculum is designed to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can explore, create, and learn at their own pace. We recognize that play is the natural way children engage with the world, and through it, they build the foundational skills they need for academic success, emotional development, and social understanding.

Our approach is built on the belief that each child is unique and learns best when their individual interests and strengths are valued and encouraged. We aim to foster a love for learning that will last a lifetime, guiding children through exploration and hands-on experiences that are both fun and educational.

Our Curriculum At First Starters Academy, our curriculum is child-centered and inspired by research that highlights the importance of active, hands-on learning. We incorporate a variety of learning activities, from creative arts and science experiments to storytelling and imaginative play, ensuring that each day is filled with opportunities for children to grow intellectually, physically, and socially. We focus on the development of:

Cognitive skills: Through problem-solving activities, puzzles, and activities that stimulate curiosity and critical thinking. Emotional and social development: Encouraging children to work together, express their feelings, and build relationships through group play and shared experiences. Language and communication: Promoting literacy and language development through reading, discussions, and interactive storytelling. Physical development: Enhancing fine and gross motor skills with activities like arts and crafts, outdoor play, and movement games. Our Core Values Respect for the Individual: We believe in recognizing and honoring each child’s unique interests, abilities, and needs. Our program supports individuality, allowing children to explore at their own pace while fostering independence and self-esteem.

Learning Through Play: We view play as a child’s most important tool for learning. By engaging children in playful, hands-on activities, we encourage curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning that goes beyond the classroom.

Family and Community Engagement: We understand that a strong partnership with families is essential for a child’s development. We encourage open communication with parents and caregivers and invite them to be an active part of their child’s journey at First Starters Academy. We also emphasize community connections, teaching children the value of collaboration, respect, and empathy for others.

Safe and Supportive Environment: Creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment is at the heart of everything we do. Children thrive when they feel secure, and we are dedicated to providing a space where children can take risks, ask questions, and explore freely, knowing they are supported every step of the way.

At First Starters Academy, we are committed to providing a place where every child feels valued, inspired, and ready to embark on their learning journey. We aim to build strong foundations for success, not only in school but in life.
