My name is Mayra Alfaro. I am the director of Children’s Fantasy Daycare Center located in Hyattsville, Maryland. I have over 23 years of experience in childcare. I am a Spanish native from the Dominican Republic. Here at CFDC, we specialize in Spanish bilingual early education. I have a CDA degree and several credits in children’s nutrition. I have always had a soft spot for children and teaching them Spanish through several games, songs, activities, and circle time.

Mayra’s program has truly been a child’s fantasy as there has been so much imagination and play at hand. She has a wonderful indoor space with lots of toys and room to play as well as a beautiful backyard, which includes an enclosed and shaded playground that sits on top of a big bed of sand. She pulls out different toys and games throughout the week. You will catch Mayra joining in on the fun at times, whether it’s kicking bouncy balls outside or being silly on walkie-talkies with the children. She purchases multiple items of everything to ensure everyone is involved. It’s always fun to see what the children are up to next, from creating Mother’s Day gifts to dressing up as butterflies and superheroes. With consent, Mayra will take pictures of your child during the week and it is so heartwarming to receive pictures here and there. It is a very homie environment, and on Holidays, she always provides thoughtful sentimental gifts to each child and sometimes parents too! She is great with all ages and really provides quality care to each child. I highly recommend Mara’s in-home daycare at The Children’s Fantasy for any child who needs care during the week. “This daycare is an absolutely wonderful place for a young child. Both our children (currently ages 1.5 and 4) go there, and our oldest has been there for more than two years. Mayra is a kind, patient, and loving caregiver who truly enjoys the company of young children and is basically a third parent to our children. And her daycare is a combination of daycare, preschool, and playgroup – an all-in-one solution for our family’s needs. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces of the daycare are spacious and lovely. They are well-equipped with age-appropriate toys and playground equipment. The children also sing, dance, and do arts and crafts. The hours are great (the daycare is open from 7 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday). The number of days the daycare is closed throughout the year is far less than many other daycares (basically, Mayra only closes for federal holidays). We also appreciate that we don’t have to pack any food for the kids – Mayra provides them with breakfast, lunch, and snacks.”

After dissolving my previous nanny share, leaving my daughter with someone was more than intimidating, especially as a father. Immediately upon meeting Mayra you can feel the warmth and energy she has for children. To date, Mayra has been beyond amazing for my daughter and has always shown the best interest for her well-being, her education, and care. Her facilities are always cleaned and appropriate along with a huge backyard and playground my daughter loves. She has a very focused curriculum that is both fun and very educational for my daughter and the other kids. She is very responsive. Mayra affords any parent peace, updates, and reassurance that their child is in the best hands outside of their parents. Philosophy

Here at Children’s Fantasy Daycare Center we believe that every child is very important. We focus on providing a loving environment that stimulates creativity. Our main goal is to provide your children with a loving, comfortable space while you leave them in our hands. We offer a program that focuses on learning through games and playbased activities. We believe that positive methods of discipline and boundaries will help your child to develop in their own way.

Location

We are located near West Hyattsville Station, 5 minutes away from Prince George Mall Plaza, and 3/4 of a mile from Magruder Park.

About our program

The Children’s Fantasy Daycare Center is a state-licensed daycare center that follows state and city regulations to provide a safe space for children. We provide children with healthy, organic food and focus on teaching children to enjoy eating vegetables and fresh fruit. The children spend 3 periods of the day playing and performing activities outside (activities vary depending on weather).

3. Submit an Enrollment Application

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application at www.wonderschool.com/children-s-fantasy-daycare-center-7096/apply – note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
