Our Teachers

Kutina Street has worked in child care for 30 years as a teacher in child care centers and Head Start programs as well as running a licensed family child care for 11 years. I have my CDA and am an official Board Member of the MD Family Child Care Association. I am on the Maryland EXCELS quality rating improvement program at Level 3 and have a Child Care Credential at the Administrators Level 2. I believe that children learn through play and am very committed to teaching children learning skills to be prepared for school.

Philosophy

My goal is to help each child develop a strong sense of self worth and to stimulate his/her natural desire and ability to learn. My program encourages exploration, questioning, and choices within limits in order for the children to learn more and be ready for school. Children learn by active participation through play because a child’s work is to play. Playing allows children to learn about the world and their social environment. My curriculum is designed to provide for the needs of children by enhancing the emotional, social, physical, and intellectual growth of the child and providing challenges appropriate to their age and level.

Location

I am well-equipped family child care in Anne Arundel County with my own outdoor play area and located near I-295, I-95, and I-895 Washington Boulevard in South or Southwest Baltimore. I am close to employers in downtown Baltimore, University of Maryland Hospital, Harbor Hospital, Federal Hill, Horseshoe Casino, the former Montgomery Ward building. Schools that are in my area: Belle Grove Elementary, Brooklyn Park Elementary, Brooklyn Park Middle, George Washington Elementary, Charles Carroll Barrister Elementary, Lloyd Keaser Head Start, Celebree School of Glen Burnie, Parks Elementary School and Brooklyn Park Elementary School.

About our program

My home family day care as a small center. I provide hands-on learning activities for all ages so children can experience their world directly from me and the other children.
