Our Teachers
Alisha Walls graduated from the University of Alaska with her BA in Early Childhood Education, family studies, and curriculum. She is currently in her Master’s Program at NMSU and soon will graduate in December 2023. She has been working with children for about 15 years from ages 0 to 18 years of age. She has a passion for working with children and enjoys developing relationships with the children that she teaches and their families. She believes that small class sizes are the development of a strong community that allows her and her team to really know each child as an individual and to provide a solid and supportive foundation in the early years. Her dream is to open her own childcare center to provide 5-star high-quality care in New Mexico state.
Testimonials
Alisha is amazing!! My daughter loves going there because there is a lot of structure, always different activities and she even says Alisha makes tidy up time fun!! My daughter is a fussy eater and Alisha has made sure she has food she will eat and caters to each child individually while making sure they all become fab friends! Cannot recommend enough! There is an app to keep me up to date throughout the day on how my daughter is doing - very reassuring for a busy mama!
Philosophy
Philosophy I believe that each child is an individual and as an educator, I will value and develop each child’s strengths, interests, skills, abilities, and knowledge to extend their learning. I believe that children learn through play. I will provide opportunities for children to explore, discover, create, and imagine through fun and exciting activities.
Mission Our goal is to provide high-quality, developmentally appropriate childcare for all ages, with a focus on the individual child’s age and ability to stimulate social, cognitive, physical, and emotional growth. We will provide a safe, nurturing, and recreational environment for the children in our care.
Curriculum Our curriculum will be based on the children’s interests. The Creative Curriculum includes developmentally appropriate goals and objectives for children within four main categories of interest: social/emotional, physical, cognitive, and language. … Within this stage, children learn how to make friends, how to have group interactions, and how to follow rules. We also add a twist on the Montessori Curriculum as well.
About our program
Our program is unique because we gather as a family. We are not just a business that works with children. We create positive relationships with family. Each month we do a parent involvement. This can be something we all do as a program or something you do at home with your child but share with the rest of the childcare. We celebrate all holidays and family traditions. We also enjoy learning about other cultures and holidays that we celebrate as well in our program.
Health & Safety Health and Safety is the main priority in our childcare. We make sure the learning environment is kept safe and clean for all children of all ages. All staff is well trained in CPR and first aid certifications as well as food handling. Children practice handwashing and cleaning practices throughout the day. We follow any state guidelines on COVID-19 and any other health and safety measures.
NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY
