Philosophy
Curriculum and Philosophy At Kiddie Carousel we employ a holistic approach to student learning. We provide some structure, emphasis on muscle development, coordination, and developmentally appropriate activities. Our students will have freedom to choose activities in addition to experiencing structured activity. We encourage, foster, and facilitate coordination, concentration, cooperation, and sense of order and independence. We seek to provide learning in a stimulating atmosphere, introducing many activities the student will build upon in kindergarten. Teachers help guide children to operate in different play areas of the center. Character attributes like responsibility, truthfulness, and the skills of conflict resolution are woven throughout daily activities. Kiddie Carousel uses the Foundations to the Indiana Academic Standards for young children ages 2-5 (a curriculum guide) to ensure young learners will have a love of learning, be prepared for kindergarten, and build lifelong skills. Being aware that early education is not limited to classroom situations, Kiddie Carousel believes that family is the primary unit in the student’s life with school being a secondary supportive unit and partner with parents/guardians.
