Our Teachers

Ms. Rivera Director Hello, it’s a pleasure to meet you. My students call me Maestra Rivera. I am the owner and director of Manzanita Preschool. I have been teaching for over 25 years. 10 years in Mexico and 15 years in the United States. I studied Accounting Assistant, and then to become a teacher. I knew I wanted to be a teacher since I was a little girl; When I was 15 years old, I collaborated in my Church as a Teacher in the Bible school for children in Mexico and in a few months more than 200 children came to the Bible school. I loved it and that’s when I discovered my Passion for teaching. When my family and I moved to the United States, I worked in children’s ministry for 7 years at church with my husband. Then I worked with the Spanish Immersion Program in Michigan and brought it to South Bend, Indiana, I worked at a private school. I discovered that there was a need, that not all parents could afford quality, full-time education, in Early Education, Preschool and Kindergarten. That’s when we decided to open Manzanita Preschool, a full-time Spanish Immersion Program. I am a wife, mother, grandmother and my husband and I are associate pastors at our church, CLC South Bend. When people ask me why I love working with kids, I light up, they are the best! They are pure energy, joy and love. I love teaching and seeing their development and growth. The best thing about being a teacher is knowing that you plant a seed of knowledge in each of your students and prepare them for school. My promise to you is that your child will learn Spanish, develop in a loving, professional and educational Immersion environment.
