Our Teachers
Lena Burns, Owner/Director
Lena earned her Early Childhood Degree in 2006. She has experience directing a ministry and teaching in a Head Start classroom, but her favorite position has been the one she created working for herself. In home, she has been able to create a program that best benefits children, and an environment that allows relationships to be the foundation for learning. She loves teaching multi-ages. Her favorite part of working with children is seeing their pride at learning something new.
Philosophy
We believe all humans have basic needs that must be met before learning can be achieved. We focus on relationships and play as our foundation and our teachers facilitate and build upon each goal. As we learn about each individual child and family, we aim to work together to create goals that best meet the needs of each student. We love process art and learning how to think as opposed to what to think. We provide an environment that is fun to learn in, and allow the children to show us what they need academically, socially and even spiritually- bc we all need to know the love of God. We respond accordingly by setting up the environment for their success.
Location
We are close to the public schools and have busses from even the surrounding counties that drop off school children. We are in the center of town- close to factories, shopping, restaurants.
About our program
We offer the benefits of continuity of care, which is so important for children. We offer an individualized education plan for newborns through primary school students and pride ourselves on developing loving relationships with the children and families. We learn through play and share observations with families to prepare children for a life long love of learning. Our goal, is to love the kids so well, they love coming to school, so parents and caregivers can walk away without worry while apart.
