About our program
Philosophy and Goals Blackford Preschool Academy is a preschool program that is designed to meet the diverse needs of our school population. Students will receive foundational skills instruction based on the Indiana Department of Education Early Learning Developmental Framework and the IDOE Literacy Frameworks. It will be noted that the pace at which the curriculum is taught will occur at the rate necessary to ensure learning of all students. Blackford Preschool Academy at Blackford Primary School is a place for discovery and play. The goal is to grow young minds through imagination, fostering their curiosity while focusing on social, emotional, and academic skills needed to be successful learners preparing for kindergarten. We want them to be engaged learners while fostering their love to learn and make learning fun. The preschool curriculum supports our program’s goals of working hard, doing your best, being good to each other, and being safe. It also supports our corporation mission: Empowering students to maximize their potential.
