Our Teachers

My name is Jessica Bockstruck and I started Little Bug’s Daycare in 2018 when our daughter was 10 months old. A year later, I started the training for ICCP/Idaho Stars Steps to Quality. All staff, including myself participate in a minimum of 20 hours of training a year. In late 2021 I started the process for Washington’s DCYF and Merits Program. Myself, husband and teenage daughter are all background checked.

Philosophy

At Little Bug’s Daycare, children are encouraged to discover their individual strengths and unique talents. We believe that each child possesses the capacity to learn. Learning is best accomplished in a place that is emotionally secure, physically safe and fun. Our program is a place where children can learn through doing, invent through making, and solve problems by working together.

Location

Located on Normal Hill, just walking distance to Jenifer Jr. High, Webster Elementary School, Pinecrest Academy, Lewis Clark Christian School, and The Boys and Girls Club.

About our program

Small in home based daycare where children come to play and learn the concepts of math, science, engineering, art, social sciences and early literacy through our play-based, child-led curriculum. We use the interests and ideas of the children as a jumping off place. The materials are open-ended and invite discovery. Children make their own investigations and draw their own conclusions whenever possible and to gain their own independence.

We accept Idaho and Washington subsidy. Assist in potty training.
