Our Teachers

Maria Figueroa, Director Maria graduated from the University of California in 2001 with an Education Specialist (EdS) degree. In 2005, she realized her dream of having her own in home childcare program after the birth of her daughter. Her favorite thing about what she does is developing relationships with the children that she teaches and their families. She believes that small class size and the development of a strong community allow her and her team to really know each child as an individual and to provide a solid and supportive foundation in the early years.

Philosophy

At our school, we strive to create a safe and caring community of young explorers inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy. Our program is a place where children can learn through doing, invent through making, and solve problems by working together. We believe that when children are truly engaged with their environment, magic happens. Our team of experienced and innovative teachers do this by creating a space driven by the interests and ideas of the children who inhabit it.

Location

We’re in the xyz neighborhood of Schoolville; on a tree lined street in a single family home. With easy access to transit, everything from the XYZ Library to ABC Park are just a short walk away. We’re a few blocks away from the Exploratorium, and UCSF Mission Bay campus. We’re just steps to CalTrain and a block from Hwy 280 on-ramp, yet in a peaceful, quiet location if you’re looking to commute from the South Bay or East Bay- a parent’s dream!
