Rhoshawnda “Rho” Baker, Director and Head Teacher

Rhoshawnda “Rho” Baker is a native of Fayette, Mississippi and an Alcorn State University proud BRAVE. Her 20-year career in the public school sector afforded her the opportunity to teach every grade from Kindergarten to Adult Learners. She holds a Georgia Professional Educators Certification and two Masters degrees in education with a background in Reading, English, Writing, Journalism, Humanities, History, and Theatre arts. She holds a passion for the arts and believes in the Power of Play as an avenue to social and emotional growth. “Ms. Rho”, as she prefers to be called by the students once resided in College Park, Georgia in the early 90s while enrolled as student at Clark Atlanta University and then Atlanta Metropolitan College. She has two college-aged daughters attending schools right in the heart of Atlanta and she feels as though Georgia is her second home. She has always had a desire to open her own school with the freedom to develop her own curriculum; one that would cater to the gifts and talents of the child while at the same time adding the freedom of worship, devotion and prayer as a daily routine. Rho wanted children to be free in how they expressed their faith and beliefs and to fully embrace it in others. She believes that faith and family are the foundations of a great education and that a school like SEVEN PILLARS could combine two very precious components in a way that builds confidence, provides support and and creates community.

About our program

SEVEN PILLARS is an exciting place for children to grow spiritually, academically, physically, socially and emotionally. Our school emphasizes the importance of faith in all that we study and create. Our goal is build good character and citizenship through play, meditation and learning choices. Each child will be challenged to use their creativity, knowledge, and skills in a project-based environment to enhance social skills and love of learning. This is accomplished in a safe, nurturing environment where students can apply their learning around rigorous and relevant activities presented through a biblical worldview in the seven realms of social culture, identity and influence: Faith, Family, Government, Education, Business, Arts & Entertainment and Media. Our focus is educating the whole child; specifically, innate gifts and talents that each student possess by exercising faith in each of the seven pillars of culture and influence.
