Philosophy
The YWCA Child Development Center is devoted to a high quality of care and education for children and parents. We provide a safe, nurturing environment that contributes to each child’s development and independence. We are dedicated to promoting developmentally appropriate, culturally sensitive practices. The goal is to prepare children for school readiness through the use of specific school readiness goals that focus on social and emotional skills, language and literacy, approaches to learning, cognition and general knowledge, physical being, as well as gross motor skills. The program will attain these goals through the use of research based curriculum and assessment tools. We will use child outcomes for planning purposes, to improve our strategies and techniques to achieve higher success rates in the future. We strive to be the foundation that empowers young thinkers to continue academic achievement at all life levels.
