Our Teachers

We pride ourselves on being a family-oriented environment not only for the students but for the staff as well. Many of our loyal staff first came to the school as parents. They had so much fun, they stayed on as teachers! Most of our teachers have a college degree and are trained in the Conscious Discipline social-emotional support philosophy. All of our teachers are licensed childcare providers through the Department of Children and Families and CPR/ First Aid certified; and our VPK staff must maintain a Florida CDA/Staff advanced Credential. We have staff that speak English, Spanish, Italian, and Hungarian.

Philosophy

Our unique curriculum, schedule and not profit status allows The P.L.A.Y. School to further our mission of helping young learners and their families in the following ways:

-Give children a love of learning and confidence in themselves and their abilities. -Prepare children for the rigors of today’s elementary school programs by including play and arts-based experiences that incorporate Early Childhood standards and Florida state Kindergarten standards. -Provide a flexible schedule that makes preschool more accessible and affordable, and promotes family involvement. -Along with their child, we provide opportunities for parents to learn, build friendships, prepare for the next step, and find support here. -Ensure that each individual child’s strengths and challenges are recognized and supported through scaffolded learning experiences, services provided in-house, and collaboration with community agencies.

Location

We rent from a beautiful church in a quiet residential area in East Boca Raton. Our preschool is surrounded by homes, a Charter school, and a few other churches/private schools. There is lots of green space, plenty of parking, an we are an easy straight shot from I-95.

About our program

At the P.L.A.Y. School, we believe that each young learner is unique and grasps concepts in his/her own way. We therefore design our learning experiences with a variety of learning styles in mind. Children are meant to deeply explore the world around them, and they learn the most when given the chance to learn through movement, art, music and play. When schools use a play-based curriculum, all children benefit. Our program nurtures growth through engaging activities, fostering both cognitive and motor skills. With a focus on experiential learning, we create a unique educational experience that promotes family involvement and holistic development.
