Our Teachers

Hello! I am Stephanie Nye, the founder of Countryside Child Care Wonderschool. I am very excited about potentially working with your family! I have a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development and over 15 years of child care experience. I have experience managing a child care center with multiple staff and children, to caring for one 6-week old infant in his own home environment. I have a passion for nurturing children and helping them grow up to become successful adults.

I am also a mother of a fun-loving five-year old boy named Konrad. When not attending school, I include Konrad in all learning activities with other children. Having other children to play and learn with will help in developing our children’s social skills and will better prepare them for when they need to go to school.

I would love to care for and play with your little one(s). Please contact me if you think I would be a good fit for your family. As a mother, I understand how important it is to find an excellent caregiver for your children. Please feel free to contact me with any questions and/or concerns. My daily rate includes two healthy meals and one snack per day, per child. I have a clean background, and I have a clear driving record. I can provide documentation to prove my qualifications. I can also provide references and at least 5 letters of recommendation.

Thank you for considering me for the very important role of caring for and educating your child(ren). I look forward to potentially working with your family!

Philosophy

Countryside Wonderschool is a play-based preschool that focuses on allowing children to follow their own curiosities and interests through play. Whenever caring for children, I dedicate my full attention to their needs. Play-based learning has been described as developmentally appropriate learning for young children, where children learn at their own pace through the natural process of play.

We will follow a daily rhythm which includes the following activities:

  • Language Development (Reading, circle time, weather, ABC’s, colors, numbers)
  • Social/Emotional Development (Taking turns, eating together, helping each other)
  • Life Skills Development (dressing, serving food, pouring milk, cleaning up)
  • Music and Movement (Singing, dancing with scarves, finger-plays)
  • Science and Math (cooking, measuring, experiments with water, light, sound, & magnets)
  • Creative Play (arts and crafts, paint, crayons, glue)
  • Manipulative Play (blocks, Legos, trains, puzzles, lacing cards)
  • Dramatic Play (dress-up, cars, pretend games)
  • Sensory play (playdoh, foam, sand, water, paint)
  • Active play (gymnastics, running, jumping, sports, outdoor play)
  • Field trips outside the home (parks, playgrounds, zoo, museums)

We will have a great time and we will be learning all along the way!

Location

Our program is located in a bright, spacious single family home with a large backyard in the Countryside neighborhood in Westminster.

We spend a lot of time playing in the backyard–we have play structures, a garden, bikes, and materials that children can use to explore their own interests.

About our program

Our learning centers include:

  • Art Center
  • Block Center
  • Literacy/Reading Corner
  • Dramatic Play
  • Sensory Play
  • Nature and Science Center
  • Music and Movement Center
  • Math and Manipulatives Center

The materials in each center are rotated on a regular basis to keep children interested and engaged. We also enjoy plenty of time spent out of the home! Children have some outdoor time every day in my private yard. We have a very large backyard with lots of play space and materials. Children need space to run, jump, and move! We go on trips to one or two of these places on a monthly basis:

  • Two nearby parks
  • Library
  • Community Center
  • Gymnastics Center
  • Zoo
  • Aquarium
  • Museums
  • Farms/Pumpkin Patch
  • Splash Pads/Swimming Pools

At Countryside Child Care Wonderschool, I provide an enriching environment where children feel free to explore and play.

We also participate in the “Kid’s Nutrition Company” food program, which is a Child and Adult Care Food Program certified by the USDA.
