Our Teachers

I am Evon Zarzour, the founder of Hidden Hills Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I believe positive early school relationships can make for a better future. I am a mother of three so I understand a lot about parent’s concerns and dreams for their child. I have 13 years of experience working with young children but still love to learn new things about child development. I take pride in finding new materials for your child to play with each week as well as planning for delicious home-cooked meals.

Testimonials

Evon is a generous and sincere teacher with everything you’d want for your young child from a teacher: warmth, energy, engagement, and collaboration. When I visited, I saw children of all ages thoroughly engaged in play in her beautiful, light-filled home. She ran a successful home school in Santa Monica and is now making her mark in the Hidden Hills area of LA.

Philosophy

At Hidden Hills Wonderschool, we believe that when it comes to children, more is more. Inspired by the schools of Reggio Emilia, we offer a full array of play materials and art activities all set in the peaceful backdrop of the Hidden Hills. Parents love knowing that their child can access and explore a variety of materials in a spacious, well-organized home. Our commitment to quality and abundance is most felt in the care, attention, and respect given to each child. We are an empathy-based school with influences in the RIE parenting method.

Location

Hidden Hills Wonderschool is located in spacious and scenic home. There are four large rooms for children to engage in including the family room, activity room, building room, and large playroom.

We’ve designed our environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include block area (for gross motor skills and problem solving), dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy), and manipulatives and math area (for fine motor skills and beginning math concepts).

Children will have some outdoor time every day in our private yard that overlooks the mountains and trees. We have several sensory tables, an outdoor easel, jungle gym and sports available for gross motor development.

At Hidden Hills Wonderschool, we don’t shy away from offering your child more to explore! We see your child as young investigators, artists, and athletes who are eager to engage with the world. We take pride in giving them the chance to in a safe and lush schoolhouse.
