Our Teachers

Hello! I am Ramona Aguila, the founder of Aguila and Rodriguez Family Child Care Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I have loved working with children since I was young. I have 20 years of experience working with young children.

Philosophy

At Aguila and Rodriguez Family Child Care Wonderschool every child is an individual who has his/her own rate of physical development and own pace of learning. We encourage and build each child’s imagination and creativity to instill a sense of self-worth and encourage self-confidence. Throughout the day, we provide activities and an environment that will nurture the child’s self-esteem.

Above all else, I do my best to have each child gain and keep a positive self-image.

Every child is guided through the day with positive reinforcement in all activities, is always encouraged to try again, and is never pressured into participation of any activity. Discipline is always handled in this belief: The child is a good person - it is his/her behavior that is unacceptable and needs to be guided to a more acceptable means of expression.

Parents are welcome to visit their children any time during the day. I encourage parent involvement and participation, and I enjoy getting to know all of the parents.

Location

Aguila and Rodriguez Family Child Care Wonderschool is located in a welcoming, inviting single family home in the Sylmar neighborhood.

My home will provide clean and well-supervised play areas. The toy play area is sprayed and thoroughly cleaned weekly with a disinfectant. This area is checked daily for broken items that may hurt children.

Children will have plenty of outdoor time every day in my spacious outdoor classroom. Children absolutely love spending time outside with our large legos, sandbox, arts & crafts activities, play structures and more.

My main concern and goal in caring for your child is to see grow physically, intellectually, socially, and emotionally to be the best of his/her ability. Please feel free to offer your advice and/or suggestions at any time.

3. Submit an Enrollment Application

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application. Please note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
